Treating Hiatal Hernia Symptoms Doesn't Have To Be Like Boot Camp

A hiatal hernia (also known as hiatus hernia) occurs when part of the stomach, or the lower part of the esophagus and part of the stomach, push through the hiatus in the diaphragm (the muscle separating the abdomen and chest). This can happen either because of being born with a large hiatus (hole) or because of injury or accident or because of pressure if you are overweight or are pregnant. Hiatal hernias are also common in those with GERDs disease.
